Opportunity Village’s Job Discovery Program held a graduation ceremony on Aug. 10.

The program is a partnership between Opportunity Village and the Clark County School District that enables students with disabilities to experience diverse career options through hands-on vocational training that will serve them as they transition from school to their lives as working adults.

Nearly 60 program participants attended the ceremony, in addition to the 20 graduates.

The program graduates are: Chloe Alexander, Anthony Androwski, Cassius Battle, Amanda Bautista, Ladyann Cellona, Lawrence Hundley, Sean Lalin, Chelsea McLauchlin, Devlin Moore, Joshua Paulus, Rashad Richardson, Dustin Roberts, Keila Torees-Rodriguez, Maria Sarabia, Maximillian Sikora, Glenn Torres, Victor Vasquez, Christopher Velasquez, Zachary Warriner and Jason Yao.

Kyler-Chayse Kela Takasane-Kam has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 430, he helped rebuild a trail at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs for his Eagle project.

He enjoys hiking, camping, fishing and shooting.

Takasane-Kam is the son of Allen Kam and Sharis-Kam of Las Vegas.

Evan Hobbes has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 903, he did landscaping at St. Jude’s Ranch for Children in Boulder City for his Eagle project.

He enjoys track and field, camping, hiking, violin, snowboarding and skateboarding and is a member of the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra.

Hobbes is the son of John and Susan Hobbes of Las Vegas.

Gio Muriel, 19, graduated from Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio on April 26.

Muriel is currently in Air Force technical job training school for geospatial intelligence.

A 2011 graduate of Legacy High School in North Las Vegas, Muriel is the son of Kenneth and Gina Muriel and brother of Kedrick Muriel.

Peggy Johnson-Love of Las Vegas has been named to the dean’s list at Alvernia University in Reading, Pa., for the spring 2012 semester.
