Dining pick of the week: Rocky’s Bar and Grill

8540 S. Maryland Parkway
at East Wigwam Avenue, 434-1456

When Joe Zanelli took over Rocky’s last year, he brought 30 years of hotel and gaming experience. What that means is great service and great food at a great price. Popular entrees include Rocky’s rigatoni with homemade meatballs, chicken fajita tacos, fish (coldwater cod) and chips, and Rocky’s popular steak tips, where sirloin tips are marinated in barbecue sauce and served with steak fries and house salad. Featured breakfasts, served around the clock, include grilled ham steak and eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, blueberry pancakes, Rocky’s New York steak and eggs, omelets and Texas French toast. There are pizzas, homemade soups and chili, salads (chicken Caesar, tuna, turkey Cobb) and sandwiches such as French dip, BLT, cheese steak, California turkey wrap, half-pound Angus hamburgers on toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, onion and Thousand Island dressing and the triple decker club with turkey, bacon, ham, Jack cheese, mayo, lettuce and tomato on choice of toast. Among the appetizers are cheese quesadilla, spinach and cheese dip, Angus sliders, nachos and chicken wings. Entrees begin at $7.99 and sandwiches at $5.99. Rocky’s Bar and Grill is open 24/7.
