Dining pick of the week: Laurita’s Taco Shop

Real Mexican food, 24 four hours a day. That’s a real treat, and at Laurita’s, there is so much more than tacos. In fact, there are 37 platters, and one of them is bound to be your favorite. The No. 6 is two beef tacos, the No. 16 is two fish tacos, the No. 1 is two rolled tacos and a chicken taco, the No. 22 is huevos rancheros with tortillas, the No. 33 is chicken or beef chimichanga, the No. 17 is a tamales plate, and the No. 5 is two cheese enchiladas. What’s your favorite number? No. 37 is a large shrimp cocktail, and No. 18 is three hard potato tacos. The No. 4 is a bean tostada and a cheese enchilada. Among the many à la carte items are burritos (breakfast, bean and cheese, California, chorizo, vegetarian), tostadas, enchiladas, quesadillas and tortas (sandwiches) featuring ham and cheese, tongue, chorizo, chicken and beef. Several sides are Super Nachos, chips with guacamole, carne asada fries and taco salad. Menudo is available every Saturday and Sunday. Popular drinks are Horchata, Jamaica, Tamarindo and Pina. Platters begin at $6 and one taco is $2.05. Laurita’s Taco Shop is open 24/7.
