CANTINA LAREDO PLANS TEQUILA DINNER MARCH 5

Cantina Laredo at Tivoli Village, 430 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 110, has partnered with Asombroso Tequila for a tequila dinner planned for 7 p.m. March 5.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF FRENCH MASTER CHEFS TO CONVENE IN LAS VEGAS

The 59th General Assembly of French Master Chefs plans to convene at The Venetian and Palazzo March 5-9 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the American and Canadian delegations and the U.S. Chapter of l’Academie Culinaire De France.

Nearly 150 master chefs will review the previous year’s accomplishments, look ahead to next year and find ways to help other communities promote upcoming events. New members will be added to the list with an induction ceremony. A special dinner is planned to elect the woman of the year and reward a member for lifetime achievement.

The Master Tour de France is planned for 6 to 10 p.m. March 8 at Doge’s Palace Plaza at The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South. It is open to the public, and tickets are $50 for those 21 or older. Twelve chefs and wineries and spirit makers will showcase their specialties in technique and cuisine from different regions of France.

BELLAGIO ANNOUNCES CULINARY CLASSROOM SCHEDULE FOR 2014

The Executive Chef’s Culinary Classroom at the Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South, has announced its schedule for 2014. The educational series includes interactive cooking classes led by executive chef Edmund Wong and his team. Each two-hour class is held in Tuscany Kitchen, a state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen. Each class has a seasonal theme and features a menu created with fresh ingredients.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS PLAN LENTEN FISH FRY

The Knights of Columbus Council 8282 plans to offer its annual Lenten Fish Fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays March 7 through April 11 at the St. Viator Catholic Church Parish Center, 2461 E. Flamingo Road.

The fish are flown in from Alaska and served with coleslaw, fries, bread and coffee. Drinks and desserts also will be available.

The Double Barrel Roadhouse is scheduled to open March 7 on Las Vegas Boulevard South in front of the Monte Carlo.

MTO CAFE TO INTRODUCE SUNDAY NIGHT SUPPER SERIES

LES KINCAID TO HOST NOODLE, WINE CLASSES IN MARCH

Les Kincaid, host of the radio wine show “Wines Du Jour,” plans to host the class A Taste of Noodles from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 11 and 18 at Ferguson Enterprises, 4175 S. Grand Canyon Drive. The cost is $98 for two sessions.

The class Appellations of California Wine is planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays March 12-26 at Total Wine & More in Boca Park, 730 S. Rampart Blvd. A wine bearing the California appellation ensures consumers that 100 percent of the grapes were grown in California. This class will offer tastings of three of the 12 different appellations, including Santa Barbara, Monterey County and Paso Robles. A brief overview of each will be discussed, along with winery suggestions for future wine country visits.

CANTINA LAREDO RAISES FUNDS FOR AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION

The 2014 Great Vegas Festival of Beer is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. (early entry and VIP entry at 3 p.m.) April 26 in the Fremont East Entertainment District in downtown Las Vegas.

Motley Brews plans to expand the festival to accommodate the local beer scene and feature more than 250 brews from more than 80 breweries. A new focus will be on beer-inspired culinary menus, mixology, educational elements, interactive exhibits and live music.
