The cast of “Pawn Stars” and Rachel’s Kitchen at the Ogden, 150 Las Vegas Blvd. North, plan to host a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 14 to benefit Where Angels Play Foundation, an organization that builds playgrounds in honor of each of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting as a way to celebrate their lives.

CULINARY CLASH MASTER CHEF COMPETITION SET FOR DEC. 13-14 AT THE VENETIAN

The Culinary Clash Master Chef Competition is scheduled for Dec. 13-14 as part of the Winter in Venice holiday celebration at The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Chef Emeril Lagasse will serve as celebrity judge for the contest, which pits chefs from The Venetian and Palazzo restaurants against each other inside mobile food truck kitchens. Robin Leach is set to host.

A new element this year will be Masters of Mixology, a competition among resort bartenders, hosted by master mixologist Dale Degroff.

Admission to watch the events is free, and the action is set to be broadcast on giant screens along the Strip.

SIMON RESTAURANT TO HOST SANTA TEA DEC. 14

Simon Restaurant and Lounge at Palms Place, 4381 W. Flamingo Road, plans to host Communities In Schools of Nevada’s annual Santa Tea from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 14. Families are invited to take photos with Santa, decorate cookies and sip hot cocoa, with cranberry mojitos and small bites available for the adults. Children’s favorites such as pigs in a blanket are also planned, along with sandwiches and holiday rolls stuffed with turkey and mashed potatoes and topped with cranberry sauce. Sweets will include homemade cookies, cupcakes and cotton candy.

SIXTH ANNUAL CARNIVAL OF CUISINE SET FOR DEC. 14 AT THE VENETIAN AND PALAZZO

The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South, and the Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South, are set to host the sixth annual Carnival of Cuisine food festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 14 poolside at the Palazzo Pool Deck.

The event will include a special welcome by chef Emeril Lagasse, along with cusine from award-winning restaurants such as Aquaknox, B&B Ristorante, Bouchon and Cafe Presse.

ARIZONA CHARLIE’S ALLOWS PLAYERS TO USE POINTS TO PROVIDE HOLIDAY MEALS FOR THOSE IN NEED

Arizona Charlie’s Boulder, 4575 Boulder Highway, and Arizona Charlie’s Decatur, 740 S. Decatur Blvd., are allowing players to contribute their ace I PLAY points to provide holiday meals for people in need this holiday season.

The Feed a Family program allows ace I PLAY members to contribute any amount of points by visiting the ace I PLAY Center at either location through Dec. 15. For every 12,000 points contributed, Arizona Charlie’s will donate a box of food to the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.

Each food basket is set to contain a holiday meal with an entree, sides and dessert for a family of four.

The RX Boiler Room in The Shoppes at Mandalay Place, 3930 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host Holiday Takeover, an event featuring redefined comfort food and cocktails, from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 16. The event will benefit the Helen David Memorial Fund, started by The Modern Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim, which provides assistance to bartenders affected by breast cancer.

J.C. WOOLOUGHAN’S PLANS BEER FLIGHT, SPECIAL DECEMBER HOURS

J.C. Wooloughan’s Irish Pub in the Rampart Casino, 221 N. Rampart Blvd., plans to offer a beer flight special in December with four 5-ounce beers for $6.

Happy hour specials are available from 3 to 6 p.m. nightly, including $2.50 select draft beers and $5 appetizers.

The pub also plans to offer a Chicago Bears Tailgate Menu Sundays when Bears’ games are televised. The menu will feature chicken wings, chicken sausage sandwich, hot dogs and Italian beef sandwich. Beverage specials will also be offered.

In December, the pub will be closed during lunch and open at 4 p.m. through Dec. 12, Dec. 16-19 and Dec. 23 and 25. The pub will be closed on Dec. 24.

FIZZ Las Vegas has opened inside Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The champagne lounge and bar is open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 4 a.m. Friday through Sunday, with food service available daily from opening until 11 p.m.

Signature cocktails include the FIZZ Noir, a blend of cherries, fresh lemon juice, Grey Goose Cherry Noir and rock candy syrup, topped with brut champagne.

SOUTH POINT PLANS DECEMBER DINING SPECIALS

Don Vito’s, Silverado Steak House and Primarily Prime Rib at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plan to offer Cowboy dining specials in the spirit of the National Finals Rodeo from Dec. 5-15.

Silverado Steak House will have a Tomahawk steak and dry aged 24-ounce rib chop for $45. Primarily Prime Rib plans to offer a Blackjack 16-ounce rib eye for $24. Each dish will come with a salad and side. All three restaurants plan to offer a $99 Western-themed dish for two featuring dry aged prime 14-ounce New York strip steak with shrimp scampi, scallops, spinach and homemade potato chips.

The property’s Ho Ho Ho Let it Flow promotion is offering guests $2 drink specials on all well, call, premium, draft or bottle beverages at all hotel and casino bars Dec. 16-24.

On Dec. 23, a celebration of the property’s eighth anniversary is planned, with cake and champagne for guests in the valet entrance from noon to 4 p.m.

Christmas Day specials are planned Dec. 25. The Coronado Cafe and Baja Miguel’s each plan to serve a cocktail of choice, soup or salad, turkey platter and Christmas Yule Log or warm mince meat pie and cream with coffee or tea for $16.95.

The Garden Buffet plans specials for $15.95 with a casino Club card and $19.95 without a card. A champagne dinner buffet will be served from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Prix Fixe menus are planned at Don Vito’s Silverado Steak House and Primarily Prime Rib. Don Vito’s menu includes entree choice of roast turkey dinner ($29), osso bucco ($35) or Alaskan halibut with king crab ($32).

Silverado Steak House’s menu is $49 for four courses, including entree choices of roast turkey, halibut Francaise, filet mignon, chicken Oscar or roast prime rib of beef.

Primarily Prime Rib’s menu is $29 for three courses, including entree choices of roast turkey, roast prime rib of beef, chicken Francaise, black and blue medallions of beef or Chilean seabass.

The menus are available from 4 to 9 p.m. at Don Vito’s and Silverado Steak House and from 2 to 9 p.m. at Primarily Prime Rib.

Twin Creeks Steakhouse at the Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, plans to serve a Christmas Day menu from 2 to 7 p.m. with three courses for $39. It features seared scallop salad or lobster butternut bisque, free range turkey with sides and pumpkin cheesecake or apple cranberry strudel.

HAKKASAN LAS VEGAS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THREE SQUARE

Hakkasan Las Vegas in the MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is partnering with Three Square through December to raise funds for the food bank.
