The Nevada qualifying competition for Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest was held April 20 on the Brooklyn Bridge at New York-New York. Jeff “The Beast Man” Butler and Miki Sudo were named the champions. In the local heroes competition, Nellis Air Force Base defeated the Clark County Fire Department, winning $1,000 for the Air Force Assistance Fund.

The international contest is scheduled for July 4 on Coney Island in New York.
