Les Kincaid, host of the nationally syndicated radio show “Les’ Wines & Vines” plans to host the World of Teas class Oct. 5 and 12.

The Oct. 5 portion of the class will be at the Ferguson Kitchen & Bath Gallery, 4175 S. Grand Canyon Drive, No. 109, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Oct. 12 portion will be at 2:30 p.m. in a reserved area of the Mandarin Oriental Tea Lounge at Mandarin Oriental at CityCenter.

FOR NEW VISTA COMMUNITY

The Village Lake Las Vegas plans to host a Wine Walk from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday to benefit New Vista Community, a nonprofit group that provides equal opportunities and support for intellectually challenged people of all ages.

Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host Wine Walk, The Red Affair from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22, featuring all red wines, sake, cocktails, beer and cuisine. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in all red for entry into a raffle.

Wine Walk tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door ($50 for two). The Red Affair tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door.

Gordon Biersch serving Oktoberfest menu for limited time

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant has introduced a new limited time menu featuring food inspired by Germany’s Oktoberfest Festival, along with FestBier beer.

The pairings are available through Oct. 23.

Gordon Biersch also recently introduced 10 new Lighter Side menu entrees under 575 calories, including Creole chicken, Mediterranean chicken, Moroccan salmon or chicken, spicy shrimp stir fry, ahi salad, grilled chicken cashew salad, spinach salad, margarita steak and BBQ chicken flatbread.

In addition to lighter offerings, a veggie burger and lobster burger also were added to the menu.

CHURCH TO HOST A TASTE OF SPAIN

The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 9041 S. Pecos Road, Suite 4000, plans to host A Taste of Spain at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The fundraiser will feature wines from some of Spain’s finest varietals, paired with a variety of tapas. A silent auction, including rounds of golf, dining certificates and a helicopter ride, also is planned.

Springs Preserve to host
grapes & Hops Festival

The Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., plans to host the second annual Grapes & Hops Festival from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

The event will benefit Par for The Cure, a nonprofit group dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research. The festival will highlight a selection of wines and beers and feature unlimited free food samples from restaurants such as Mon Ami Gabi, Stripburger and El Segundo Sol. Live music will be performed by Kava Kreation, and a silent auction is planned.

Advance tickets are $35 each or two for $60. Each admission includes a sampling glass and unlimited wine and beer samples. Tickets at the door will be $40. Joe’s to serve rosh Hashanah dinner

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab at the Forum Shops at Caesars, plans to serve a special prix fixe Rosh Hashanah dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

Main course selections will be braised brisket of beef, roasted lemon-herb chicken or wild Alaskan halibut en papillote. Other menu items will include challah with sliced apples and honey, homemade gefilte fish with red beet horseradish, bibb lettuce and chive salad with chopped liver and onions and matzo ball soup. Dessert will be apple pie, turtle pie or flourless chocolate cake.

The Venetian and the Palazzo Las Vegas are scheduled to present the second annual Festivino, a celebration of Bordeaux, throughout October.

Rock & Rita’s, the Great American Party, at Circus Circus plans to host Flair for the Cure to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Young Professionals Against Cancer at 6 p.m. Oct. 7.
