At Twin Creeks Steakhouse, happy hour is from 5 p.m. to close Tuesdays through Thursdays. DISH Las Vegas to raise funds
for three square food bank

The annual DISH Las Vegas event is scheduled to raise funds for Three Square food bank Thursday at the Palms Pool and Bungalows, 4321 W. Flamingo Road.

Presented by Smith’s Food & Drug Stores, the event is set to feature a concert by Sugar Ray and tasting stations from Las Vegas restaurants from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

Restaurants scheduled to take part include Rick Moonen’s rm Seafood at Mandalay Bay, STK Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan, TAO at The Venetian and N9NE Steakhouse and Alizé at the Palms.

FLEMING’S introduces small plates menu, offers wine tastings

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to debut a small plates menu Wednesday.

Seven selections will be available any time: sliced filet mignon, jumbo shrimp scampi skewers, New Zealand petite lamb chops, ahi tuna skewers, New Bedford scallops, filet mignon skewers and Fleming’s lobster tempura.

Fleming’s also is hosting Opening Night wine tastings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Fridays in September. The tastings will debut all 100 selections from the new Fleming’s 100. Each tasting event will offer 20 different wines, and guests will be able to sample all of them.

Morton’s the steakhouse to host celebrity server event

University of Nevada, Las Vegas, alumnus and PGA Tour player Charley Hoffman is scheduled to be a part of Morton’s The Steakhouse’s first Celebrity Server event Monday.

The event will serve as the official dinner for the Charley Hoffman Foundation Las Vegas Pro-Am, which is part of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open weeklong festivities. Hoffman and other pro golfers from the Pro-Am will serve four courses at Morton’s, 400 E. Flamingo Road, with the proceeds going to the foundation.

The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open plans to host its third annual Women’s Day event, the Kick Off Your Heels Luncheon, presented by Lulu B. Wines, Sept. 27 at The Hill, the tournament’s tented hospitality venue overlooking the 16th, 17th and 18th holes of TPC Summerlin, 1700 Village Center Circle.

News 3 anchor Kim Wagner will emcee the event, which is set to feature a silent auction and a speech from keynote speaker Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman.

Lunch will be served by Buca di Beppo, with wines by Lulu B. Wines and dessert by Retro Bakery.

grapes & Hops Festival

The Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., plans to host the second annual Grapes & Hops Festival from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 1.

The event will benefit Par for The Cure, a nonprofit group dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research. The festival will highlight a selection of wines and beers and feature unlimited free food samples from restaurants such as Mon Ami Gabi, Stripburger and El Segundo Sol. Live music will be performed by Kava Kreation, and a silent auction is planned.

Joe’s to serve rosh Hashanah dinner

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab at the Forum Shops at Caesars, plans to serve a special prix fixe Rosh Hashanah dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. Sept. 28 and 29.

Main course selections will be braised brisket of beef, roasted lemon-herb chicken or wild Alaskan halibut en papillote. Rao’s at caesars palace raises funds for Three Square food bank

Rao’s at Caesars Palace hosted Bubbles, Burgers and Bocce recently to raise funds for Three Square food bank as part of Las Vegas Restaurant Week.

The event raised enough money to fund 3,000 meals for hungry Southern Nevadans.

EL SEGUNDO SOL TO HOST MONTHLY COOKING CLASS

El Segundo Sol at the Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is scheduled to host a monthly cooking class with chef Terry Lynch from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
