The Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, is offering happy hour specials at Twin Creeks Steakhouse and late-night dining specials at Sundance Grill.

At Twin Creeks Steakhouse, happy hour is from 5 p.m. to close Tuesdays through Thursdays. Receive half price on all items from the tapas menu, including specialty drinks, house wine and non-premium craft beer from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests can enjoy 75 percent off the same items from 8 p.m. to close. Happy hour specials are available only in the lounge.

DISH Las Vegas to raise funds
for three square food bank

The annual DISH Las Vegas event is scheduled to raise funds for Three Square food bank Thursday at the Palms Pool and Bungalows, 4321 W. Flamingo Road.

Presented by Smith’s Food & Drug Stores, the event is set to feature a concert by Sugar Ray and tasting stations from Las Vegas restaurants from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

Restaurants scheduled to take part include Rick Moonen’s rm Seafood at Mandalay Bay, STK Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan, TAO at The Venetian and N9NE Steakhouse and Alizé at the Palms.

SEPTEMBER SPECIALS

PT’s and Sierra Gold locations across the valley plan to offer game-time food specials in September.

From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday, specials will be $5.99 and include golden nuggets with fries, roast beef sliders with fries and chili cheese silder dogs with fries.

Other food specials at PT’s, starting at $4.99 and available 24 hours a day, are chipotle chicken salad, pastrami burger sliders, Southwest pork sandwich, roast beef sandwich, Cajun fish wrap and dessert of choice.

At Sierra Gold, specials start at $5.99.

Tivoli Village and Las Vegas Woman Magazine announce Wine Away Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The first one is planned for Wednesday at Republic of Couture, 400 S. Rampart Blvd.

The monthly mixer is a chance for women to meet, socialize and pamper themselves. Guests will enjoy wine tasting and light appetizers from Brio Tuscan Grille, browse clothes and accessories from Republic of Couture and get information from other local businesses.

FLEMING’S introduces small plates menu, offers wine tastings

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to debut a small plates menu Wednesday.

Seven selections will be available any time: sliced filet mignon, jumbo shrimp scampi skewers, New Zealand petite lamb chops, ahi tuna skewers, New Bedford scallops, filet mignon skewers and Fleming’s lobster tempura.

Fleming’s also is hosting Opening Night wine tastings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Fridays in September. The tastings will debut all 100 selections from the new Fleming’s 100. Each tasting event will offer 20 different wines, and guests will be able to sample all of them.

WINE WALK TO RAISE FUNDS
FOR NEW VISTA COMMUNITY

Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a wine walk from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday to benefit New Vista Community, a nonprofit group that provides equal opportunities and support for intellectually challenged people of all ages.

Morton’s the steakhouse to host celebrity server event

University of Nevada, Las Vegas, alumnus and PGA Tour player Charley Hoffman is scheduled to be a part of Morton’s The Steakhouse’s first Celebrity Server event Monday.

The event will serve as the official dinner for the Charley Hoffman Foundation Las Vegas Pro-Am, which is part of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open weeklong festivities. Hoffman and other pro golfers from the Pro-Am will serve four courses at Morton’s, 400 E. Flamingo Road, with the proceeds going to the foundation.

The evening is scheduled to begin with a reception and silent auction at 7 p.m., followed by dinner and a live auction at 8 p.m. Tickets are $250 per person, including tax and gratuity and a grounds pass good for any one-day access to the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Sept. 27-Oct. 2 at TPC Summerlin.

GOLF TOURNAMENT TO PRESENT
LUNCHEON FOR WOMEN

The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open plans to host its third annual Women’s Day event, the Kick Off Your Heels Luncheon, presented by Lulu B. Wines, Sept. 27 at The Hill, the tournament’s tented hospitality venue overlooking the 16th, 17th and 18th holes of TPC Summerlin, 1700 Village Center Circle.

News 3 anchor Kim Wagner will emcee the event, which is set to feature a silent auction and a speech from keynote speaker Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman.

Lunch will be served by Buca di Beppo, with wines by Lulu B. Wines and dessert by Retro Bakery.

Tickets are $125, or reserve a table of 10 for $1,000. VIP tables are available for $1,500 and include weekend tickets to the The Hill for the tournament, which is scheduled for Sept. 25-Oct. 2.

grapes & Hops Festival

The Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., plans to host the second annual Grapes & Hops Festival from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 1.

The event will benefit Par for The Cure, a nonprofit group dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research. The festival will highlight a selection of wines and beers and feature unlimited free food samples from restaurants such as Mon Ami Gabi, Stripburger and El Segundo Sol. Live music will be performed by Kava Kreation, and a silent auction is planned.

Advance tickets are $35 each or two for $60. Each admission includes a sampling glass and unlimited wine and beer samples. Tickets at the door will be $40. VIP lounge tickets, which include premier wine and beer tasting, a special selection of food and private seating with a balcony view, are $75. Joe’s to serve rosh Hashanah dinner

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab at the Forum Shops at Caesars, plans to serve a special prix fixe Rosh Hashanah dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. Sept. 28 and 29.

Main course selections will be braised brisket of beef, roasted lemon-herb chicken or wild Alaskan halibut en papillote. Other menu items will include challah with sliced apples and honey, homemade gefilte fish with red beet horseradish, bibb lettuce and chive salad with chopped liver and onions and matzo ball soup. Dessert will be apple pie, turtle pie or flourless chocolate cake.

Rao’s at caesars palace raises funds for Three Square food bank

Rao’s at Caesars Palace hosted Bubbles, Burgers and Bocce recently to raise funds for Three Square food bank as part of Las Vegas Restaurant Week.

The event raised enough money to fund 3,000 meals for hungry Southern Nevadans.

EL SEGUNDO SOL TO HOST MONTHLY COOKING CLASS

El Segundo Sol at the Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is scheduled to host a monthly cooking class with chef Terry Lynch from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The menu is set to feature spicy chile-braised lamb tacos with borracha sauce and zesty guacamole with sweet corn and chipotle; tomato, watermelon and radish salad with guajillo dressing; lime creme brulee; and jalapeno-cilantro margarita.

Central Michel Richard, an aound-the-clock restaurant helmed by James Beard award-winning chef Michel Richard, has opened at Caesars Palace.
