FLEMING’S PLANS OPENING-NIGHT
WINE TASTINGS IN SEPTEMBER

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to host Opening Night wine tastings from
5:30 to 7 p.m. Fridays in September.

The tastings will debut all 100 selections from the new Fleming’s 100. Each tasting event will offer 20 different wines, and guests will be able to sample all of them.

A preview of the new small plates menu also will be featured, including sliced filet mignon, jumbo shrimp scampi skewers, New Zealand petite lamb chops, ahi tuna skewers, New Bedford scallops, filet mignon skewers and Fleming’s lobster tempura.

The Village Lake Las Vegas plans to host a wine walk from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday to benefit New Vista Community, a nonprofit group that provides equal opportunities and support for intellectually challenged people of all ages.

Another wine walk to benefit New Vista Community is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 24 at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Las Vegas Restaurant Week is scheduled to raise funds for Three Square food bank at restaurants across the valley now through Sept. 11. Participating restaurants are offering multi-course menus for $20.11, $30.11 or $50.11. A portion of each will go to Three Square to help fight hunger in Southern Nevada.

Café Siena at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive, plans to serve Chinese cuisine from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. starting at $6.99.

Selections include corn egg drop or hot and sour soup, a homemade vegetable egg roll and a choice of fried or steamed rice. Entree choices include Kung Pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef, lemon chicken, General Tso’s chicken, beef and broccoli and shrimp chow fun.

The People’s Choice award winner will receive $500 cash, and third place $250.

The Hard Rock Hotel, 4455 Paradise Road, plans to open a new restaurant, 35 Steaks + Martinis, Friday.

Some of the highlights of the menu will be Tomahawk steak (35-day-aged, 35-ounce prime steak), Surf and Turk Skewers, Colorado lamb and herb-roasted organic chicken breasts, along with sides such as applewood bacon creamed spinach and fresh cut salt and vinegar fries.

The Lounge will offer specialty bar snacks and late-night options. Libations will include the 35 Gimlet, with cucumber essence and Hendrick’s Gin, and the Spicy Signature Serrano Martini, a blend of Belvedere Intense Vodka, fresh lime juice and Serrano pepper.
