T-BONES CHOPHOUSE ROLLS OUT
FALL T-TIME HAPPY HOUR MENU

T-Bones Chophouse at Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., has introduced a new fall T-Time happy hour menu, available from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.

The menu features beef short rib quesadillas for $7, Dirty Duck Chips for $5 and fried Wisconsin cheese for $7. Old favorites include chicken n’ waffles for $5 and ahi tuna nachos for $9.

WINE AND FOOD TASTING EVENT PLANNED

The Golden Monarch Council, a committee of volunteers that supports Nathan Adelson Hospice, is gearing up for its 12th annual Wine and Food Tasting Extravaganza from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday to benefit the nonprofit Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Southern Nevada residents and hospice supporters are invited to sample popular wines and cuisine at the event at Gaudin Jaguar-Porsche-Aston Martin, 7200 W. Sahara Ave. Numerous silent auctions and a “cupcake prize counter” are planned. Each cupcake will cost $20 and have a number listed on its bottom wrapper. The number will correspond with a surprise gift.

Summerlin authors John and Laury Bakie plan to sign their book, “The World of Las Vegas Dining,” at the event.

FRESH52 FARMERS MARKET TO PRESENT
AUTUMN HARVEST FESTIVAL

The fresh52 Farmers and Artisan Market plans to host an Autumn Harvest Festival from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 12 at Tivoli Village, 302 S. Rampart Blvd., and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 13 at Sansone Park Place, 9480 S. Eastern Ave.

The festival will feature pumpkin decorating, a pie-eating contest, a petting zoo (only at the Tivoli Village location), live music, face painting, kids’ arts and crafts, games and prizes. All events are free.

The pie-eating contest is scheduled for noon at both locations. The Tivoli Village contest is open to those 18 or older, but the Sansone Park Place contest is open to children accompanied by an adult.

THE CUPCAKERY PLANS DONATION
FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

The Cupcakery plans to donate $1 from the sale of every chocolate or vanilla Tickle Me Pink cupcake to the Southern Nevada affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure through October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

CUPKATES TO FEATURE HALLOWEEN TREATS

Cupkates, a Las Vegas-based specialty goods bakery, is offering Halloween-themed treats.

Franken or Pumpkin cupcake bouquets are available, featuring six full-sized cupcakes, five mini-sized cupcakes or four dipped marshmallows or cake pops. Orders can be made with any combination of existing cupcake flavors. Bouquets are $48 each.

Cake pops are available in vanilla bean, chocolate and red velvet for $18 for a dozen. Candied apples also are available for three for $12, along with skeleton or cauldron cupcakes for $2.50 each.

LUTEFISK DINNER SET FOR NOV. 5

The Sons of Norway Desert Troll Lodge plans to host its traditional lutefisk and meatballs dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Elks Lodge, 1217 Nevada Highway in Boulder City.

Dinner is set for 5 p.m. The meal will also include pork roast, potatoes, vegetables and lefse, a traditional Scandinavian potato flatbread. Dessert will be homemade Norwegian cookies, and Aquavit, the traditional liquor of Norway, will be available at the bar.

Lutefisk is made from aged, air-dried whitefish or dried and salted whitefish and lye.

SLIDIN’ THRU UNVEILS SLIDER HONORING STEVE JOBS

The Slidin’ Thru food truck has unveiled a new slider, The Crazy One, as its mystery slider for October. The menu item honors the late Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computers, and $1 from the sale of each slider will benefit the American Cancer Society.

The applesauce-braised pork chop slider comes with apple bacon slaw and is topped with a familiar symbol branded on the bun.

BEER FESTIVAL TO RAISE FUNDS
FOR NEW VISTA COMMUNITY

The Village Lake Las Vegas plans to host the Winter Brew’s Best Hand-Crafted Beer Festival from 1 to 6 p.m. Nov. 12, featuring more than 50 beers for sampling from local and regional breweries. Last year’s participants included Boulder Dam Brewing, Gordon Biersch, Stone Brewing Co., Tenaya Creek, Joseph James and Nevada Beverage.

Border Grill in Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering a special Day of the Dead-themed menu Nov. 1 and 2.

The appetizer will be black tamales, slow-cooked duck with black bean masa, orange chile salsa, black mole and carrot chayote salad for $12. Entrees will be herb-roasted lamb torta with goat cheese, sundried tomato aioli and cumin fries for $19 and pork in mole with Oaxacan mole sauce, achiote corn huarache, tamale peppers and escabeche vegetables for $24. CHINA POBLANO TO SERVE
DAY OF THE DEAD MENU

China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan is offering a Day of the Dead-inspired menu through Nov. 2.

The menu includes mole amarillo con puerco, pork loin and pickled chayote with Oaxacan yellow mole; mole negro de Oaxaca con tamal de pollo, chicken tamale with Oaxacan black mole; and tamal de Acelgas, a tamale. Chef Terry Lynch plans to prepare guacamole with crab and pomegranante, shrimp and sweet corn quesadillas and grilled steak tacos with serrano chile-garlic salsa. The menu will feature clams casino, paired with Samuel Adams Coastal Wheat; spice-rubbed barbecue baby back ribs, paired with Samuel Adams Octoberfest; grilled swordfish, paired with Samuel Adams; pan-seared filet of beef, paired with Samuel Adams Black Lager; and double-chocolate brownie sundae, paired with Samuel Adams Imperial Stout.

LAYERS BAKERY CAFÉ UNVEILS NEW MENU OFFERINGS

Layers Bakery Café, 665 S. Green Valley Parkway, has added new fall-inspired items to its menu, including soups and chili, grilled sandwiches, flatbreads and casseroles.

Back by popular demand is The Conservative, a grilled meatloaf sandwich with white cheddar cheese and caramelized red onions, served panini style on house baked focaccia bread with spicy ketchup. Also back is the all-beef chili, bean-less and gluten-free, served with house baked buttered cornbread.

New lunch offerings include the OMG sandwich, apple wood smoked bacon, grilled sweet onions, Granny Smith apple slices, Brie cheese and balsamic glaze, grilled on house baked cinnamon raisin bread. Seasonal salads include curried cashew and pear, spinach citrus and pear and autumn house salad with dried cranberries, walnuts and Granny Smith apple.

New baked flatbreads can be ordered gluten-free and include Buffalo chicken, rosemary ham and apple or cheesy garlic and mushroom. The menu also has comfort foods such as macaroni and cheese, lemon-basil chicken pasta, meatballs and marinara, shepherd’s pie and chicken pot pie served as individual sized bakes and rotated throughout the week.
