About 900 NV Energy customers were without power in the early hours of Thursday after a car struck a power pole at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Rancho Drive.

The pole was damaged beyond repair after it was struck about 1:30 a.m. according to a spokesman for NV Energy.

Most customers had their power restored between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m., but dozens still remain without power, according to NV Energy.
