Coroner ID’s man killed in hit-and-run pedestrian crash

The man killed Friday night in a North Las Vegas hit-and-run auto pedestrian crash was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office on Saturday.

Francisco Martinez, 73, of North Las Vegas, was crossing near the 3300 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, Near Palm Street, about 7 p.m. when a truck traveling west struck him, North Las Vegas police said.

The driver of the dark-colored pickup, which police said had damage to its driver’s side, fled the scene.

It was the second fatal accident involving a valley pedestrian on Friday.
