Coroner identifies pedestrian killed Sunday

The pedestrian who was killed crossing the street Sunday evening was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office on Tuesday.

Gilbert Sanchez, 53, of Las Vegas, was crossing Bonanza Road near Lamb Boulevard just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday when he was hit by a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck driven by a 77-year-old man, Las Vegas police said. Sanchez died at the scene.

Sanchez was not in a crosswalk when he was hit. The driver, who police said was not impaired, stayed on the scene.
