Coroner identifies man killed in double shooting

A man killed in a double shooting Saturday night in a central valley apartment complex was named Monday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

He is 56-year-old Ronald Abrams of Las Vegas, the coroner’s office said.

Police were called about 8:40 p.m. Saturday to 1010 Weaver Drive, near the intersection of H Street and Owens Avenue, where they found two people shot, Las Vegas police said that night.

The shooting happened at a party, Metro Police Department Officer Laura Meltzer said Monday. The shooter fled before officers arrived at the complex.

Abrams and the second person who was shot were taken to University Medical Center, where Abrams died.

The second person had wounds that were not life-threatening, Meltzer said.

Police did not have a description of the shooter Monday, she said.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
