Clark County firefighters rescue two from burning apartment

Clark County firefighters rescued two people from a burning building Saturday morning, including a man who was in cardiac arrest.

Firefighters responded about 1 a.m. to the Silvercreek Apartment complex at 6170 Boulder Highway, near Tropicana Avenue in southeast Las Vegas.

Upon arrival, crews were told a woman had called 911 and said she was trapped in an upstairs apartment above the burning apartment on the ground floor. Firefighters entered the building and rescued the woman. When they entered the burning apartment, they found a man in the bathroom. The man was in cardiac arrest, authorities said.

The man was resuscitated and transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Paramedics said the man had a pulse at the time he arrived at Sunrise, but his current condition was unknown. The woman was OK.
