Child struck by car in The Lakes

An 11-year-old girl was hospitalized Monday evening after being struck by a car in the west valley, according to Las Vegas police.

The collision was reported at 5:02 p.m. at the intersection of Lake East and Terracina drives in The Lakes planned community, police said. There is no marked crosswalk at the intersection.

The girl, who’s name was not immediately available, is in stable condition and her injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.

The driver of the car has not been charged. An investigation is ongoing, according Metro Lieutenant Dave Valenta.
