Car hits Clark County school bus; no one hurt

A car crashed into a Clark County School District bus carrying 11 children Wednesday morning in Henderson, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

The school bus was heading west on the 215 Beltway and getting off at Gibson Road when a red Ford Passenger car traveling north on Gibson struck it. The car ran a red light, NHP said.

No one was hurt. The 47-year-old driver who hit the bus was given a citation.

The bus was on its way to Newton Elementary School when it was hit about 8:40 a.m., according to school district spokeswoman Melinda Malone.
