Beretta to open store, shooting range inside the Palazzo

Barneys New York, Salvatore Ferragamo and Fendi are about to get some company in The Shoppes at the Palazzo, but it’s not another upscale fashion retailer.

High-end Italian gun maker Beretta got the OK late Tuesday from the Clark County Planning Commission to build a shooting range.

Lea Ramthun, a Beretta spokeswoman in Accokeek, Md., declined to comment Thursday about the company’s plans for Las Vegas. Messages left with The Palazzo were not returned.

Paperwork on file with Clark County show Beretta plans to build 25 shooting stations in two live-fire rifle and pistol ranges and three virtual ranges, as well as gun sales.

“Customers will not be allowed to bring firearms or ammunition from outside the facility for use in the shooting range,” the company said.

The Planning Commission voted 4-1 to give Beretta a permit. The 19,256-square-foot, four-story retail and shooting complex probably will open within the next few months.
