Authorities seek identity of body found in mountains

Authorities are trying to identify a man found dead in the McCullough Mountains on Thursday.

Las Vegas police said the man’s body was spotted by wildlife biologists flying a helicopter over a remote location in the mountain range, which is south of Henderson.

Sources said the body was severely decomposed and had likely been there for more than a month. He did not have identification.

The man may have fallen off a cliff, sources said.

The man was wearing a white shirt and blue shorts. His race could not be determined.

The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the man.
