81-year-old killed in rollover on Lone Mountain near 215

An 81-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash Monday morning on Lone Mountain Road near the 215 Beltway.

Las Vegas police said a 1999 Honda CRV was eastbound on Lone Mountain when it struck a guardrail on the front passenger side of the car. The vehicle went north, crossing the westbound lane and into a very steep dirt berm where the car rolled over, police said.

A witness found the overturned car at 6:27 a.m. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the man and his cause of death.

Lone Mountain Road was closed in both directions near the 215 for several hours while police investigated.
