2-vehicle collision leaves 1 dead in southeast Las Vegas

Updated March 20, 2018 - 6:52 pm

A woman was killed after two vehicles collided Tuesday afternoon in the southeast valley.

Las Vegas police were called to the collision at Pecos and Russell roads just before 1:40 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Larry Hadfield said.

A 28-year-old woman driving a Honda rear-ended a Hyundai Tucson that was stopped at a red light, police said. Both drivers were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where the Honda’s driver died. The other driver sustained minor injuries.

The woman who died will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office after her family has been notified.

This is the 24th traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
