1 killed in northeast valley crash

A woman died Wednesday after a car crashed in the northeast valley, Las Vegas police said.

First responders were called at 12:37 p.m. to the crash at 6996 Appleton Drive, near East Carey Avenue and Los Feliz Street, police said.

A 25-year-old woman was driving a 2006 Chevrolet HHR south on Easement Lane when police said witnesses saw her car leave its travel lane and go up a curb. The car continued onto a sidewalk, driving through a chain link fence before crashing into an apartment-unit wall, police said.

The woman was found unconscious and died at the scene. Police said the crash could have been due to a medical episode. Speed was not an issue in the crash.

The cause of death and the identity of the woman will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office after her next of kin is notified.
