1 dead in crash near Summerlin
A motorist was killed and four other people suffered minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Summerlin Friday morning.
The Metropolitan Police Department responded about 10:20 a.m. to the crash in the intersection of Durango Drive and Soneto Lane.
A 1998 Nissan Pathfinder was turning left onto Durango at a stop sign when a 2011 Hyundai Genesis, which was heading south, struck it, causing it to flip, police said.
The Nissan’s driver died at the scene, while his passenger was injured, police said. The Hyundai’s driver and his two passengers also were minimally hurt.
The four people who survived the crash were taken to the hospital, police said.
Police said impairment was not suspected.
The 26-year-old Las Vegas man who died will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
