Great Basin National Park doesn’t get its fair share of visitors, but that’s all the better for the enlightened few who get to enjoy it without fighting any crowds. Deep summer is the best time to go there, when its high elevation provides the cool temperatures so longingly sought by hikers and campers from Southern Nevada. Nevada’s only national park, it offers plenty to do.
Who has the best dog in the world? Um, that would be you, right? It’s 4:30 in the morning, and I’m at Angel Park Golf Club, 100 S. Rampart Blvd. It’s dark outside, but there’s a hubbub of activity. There’s an associate mowing the practice green, a kitchen worker heading toward the restaurant, a staff member using a blower to clear the main concourse to the clubhouse and equipment is buzzing everywhere.
