Fire forces 100 to evacuate North Las Vegas industrial complex

Updated February 27, 2020 - 12:59 pm

A fire at a North Las Vegas industrial complex Wednesday forced the evacuation of about 100 employees.

The call came in just after 4:30 p.m. to Brady Linen Services, 1 W. Mayflower Ave., northwest of North 5th Street and Losee Road, according to North Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Nino Galloway.

A second alarm was called so firefighters could investigate the 106,000-square-footp building and ensure that all employees were accounted for, Galloway said.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

On Thursday, the company released this statement:

“On Wednesday afternoon a minor incident occurred involving a fire at our Mayflower plant located in North Las Vegas. Due to the rapid response by employees and the (North) Las Vegas Fire Department, we are thankful to share that no one was injured during the incident.

“The safety of our employees is always our top priority and of paramount importance to our organization. Our employees swift actions and vigilant adherence to emergency response protocol resulted in the quick and safe evacuation of all our employees and persons at the plant.

“As of 2:00 am this morning the facility has fully resumed operations. We’d like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the outstanding response of the Las Vegas Fire Department.

“With the support of our four local facilities in Southern Nevada, providing redundancy in our operations, our customers will not experience any interruptions in service.”
