Pedestrian hit, killed by car in east Las Vegas

Updated February 17, 2018 - 3:37 pm

A pickup truck hit and killed a 92-year-old pedestrian Saturday afternoon in the east valley, Las Vegas police said.

The woman was hit about 9:45 a.m. by a southbound 2002 Dodge Ram, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. She was crossing eastward and outside of a crosswalk on McLeod Drive, north of East Desert Inn Road and about 500 feet from the nearest crosswalk, a Metro release said.

She died at the scene. The Dodge driver stayed at the site and didn’t appear impaired.

Her death is the ninth traffic fatality investigated by Metro in 2018.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release her identity when her family is notified.
