Firefighters working small blaze at Clark County Wetlands Park

Clark County firefighters worked to extinguish a “small fire” at Clark County Wetlands Park on Monday evening.

The fire at the southeast valley park was first reported about 6:50 p.m.; as of 8 p.m., Clark County Fire Department officials said the blaze was “contained and under control.”

Three county engines and three Bureau of Land Management engines responded. The windy conditions in the valley Monday night made it difficult to extinguish the fire more quickly.

As of Monday night, fire investigators were still working to determine the cause and calculate damages. No one was injured.
