Updated May 21, 2019 - 1:03 pm

One person was injured in a six-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in the east valley, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

About 5:30 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of North Lamb Boulevard and Berkley Avenue to reports of a collision. Upon arrival, they found that a Nissan had hit a Hyundai, then struck four other vehicles, a fire hydrant and a utility pole before coming to a stop in the yard of a home on Lamb Boulevard, Metro Lt. William Matchko said.

The Nissan left the scene but was later located. The driver had fled on foot, Matchko said.

The female driver of the Hyundai was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police are still searching for the driver of the Nissan and no arrests had been made by early afternoon.
