3 injured, power knocked out in east Las Vegas crash

Updated June 26, 2017 - 6:09 am

Three people were hospitalized and power was knocked out Monday to a portion of an east Las Vegas neighborhood.

The Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call that two vehicles collided just after 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Flamingo Avenue and Mountain Vista, Metro Lt. David Gordon said. A light pole was struck during the crash.

The driver of a Toyota and the driver and passenger of a Chrysler 200 were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Metro said. Officers suspected impairment as a factor in the crash and later arrested one of the drivers.

More than 400 customers were without power for a time, according to the Nevada Power website. Power had been restored to most of the residences as of 9:30 a.m.

Gordon said Flamingo Road was closed in both directions while police investigated but has reopened.
