Two children were found safe Sunday night after it was alleged that their uncle kidnapped them at gunpoint.
The uncle is accused of taking the children just before 9 p.m. Sunday from a Henderson home on the 400 block of E. Merlayne Drive, near Sunset Road and Boulder Highway, according to Henderson Police spokesman Scott Williams.
The uncle also is accused of threatening several family members inside the home with the gun as he took the two children, Williams said.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to assist, and found the children and the uncle’s vehicle about two hours later at a home on the 4000 block of Forest Knoll Lane, near North Buffalo and West Alexander Road in the northwest valley, according to Metropolitan Police Lt. David Gordon
The children were unharmed, and were with their grandmother who claimed to have custody, Gordon said. Metro police searched the home but the uncle was no longer there.
Henderson detectives and Child Protective Services are investigating the kidnapping, Williams said.
