Write Away

It’s a fact of life: Kids always have written on walls, and parents always have yelled at kids for writing on walls.

Now, Rust-Oleum alters that time-honored equation with a new line of Dry Erase paints.

Just mix the paint, apply it to a smooth surface, give it two days to dry, and the result is a smooth, hard finish kids can use for scrawls, notes, drawings and anything else they can make with a dry-erase marker.

The paint creates minimal odor and would work well in kids’ rooms, playrooms, mud rooms or kitchens. If nothing else, it offers a way to leave your kids notes — about their chores, perhaps — that they couldn’t claim they never saw.

A Rust-Oleum Dry Erase kit that’ll give you enough paint to cover a surface of about 7 by 7 feet retails for $22.97. It’s available at Lowe’s Home Improvement stores.
