EVENTS

In honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a novena will take place through July 16 at St. Bridget Roman Catholic Church, 220 N. 14th St. The Rev. Cornelio Jaranilla Jr., a Carmelite priest, will be the celebrant. Confessions will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary recitation at 6:30 and Mass at 7 on weekdays. The novena will begin at 5 p.m. today, Sunday and July 16 (384-3382).

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will host the community forum "CPR Anytime" with John McNeil from the American Heart Association at 11 a.m. Sunday. The community forum "Healthy Dining on a Budget" with registered dietitian Debi Meyer will be presented at 11 a.m. July 17. Refreshments will be provided (732-2052).

First Henderson United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Drive, will host a karaoke night program featuring music and refreshments 6-8 p.m. July 23. Donations will be accepted to help build a new sanctuary for the church (565-6049).

The Word Alive Church Inc., 2412 Tam Drive, will serve meals to children free of charge as part of the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be served through Aug. 27 on the following days and times: breakfast, 9-10 a.m. Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays; lunch, noon-1 p.m. Sundays and Tuesdays; and supper, 5-6 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays (684-5866).

CLASSES

First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., offers CityCamp, a Calvin Crest Camp day camp, Aug. 1-3. The children’s camp is for incoming third-graders to sixth-graders. The deadline to register is July 24 (384-4554).

SINGLES GROUPS

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada, Temple Sinai and Congregation Ner Tamid offer a variety of programs for Jewish singles of all ages in Las Vegas and Henderson. For details, call the Jewish Community Center at 794-0090, Temple Sinai at 254-5110 or Congregation Ner Tamid at 733-6292.
