MUSIC

The Myron Heaton Chorale will present a new edition and completion of Mozart’s Grand Mass in C Minor at 7 p.m. March 10 at the Lakes Lutheran Church, 8200 W. Sahara Ave. Tickets are $10 at the door. It’s a benefit for Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (363-2515).

The Celebrity City Chorus will perform an a cappella barbershop concert at 7:30 p.m. March 12 at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Refreshments will follow the performance (223-7893).

SERVICES

Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St., will celebrate the pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Welton T. Smith III and first lady Debra R. Smith during services Sunday. The following pastors will be guest speakers: the Rev. Don Burse of One Body in Christ Christian Church at the 8 a.m. service; the Rev. John Wayne Arnold of Mount Zion Church at the 11 a.m. service; and the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Fowler of Victory Missionary Baptist Church at the 3 p.m. service (647-3071).

The women of Zion United Methodist Church will celebrate their annual Women’s Day during the 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. services March 10 at 2108 N. Revere St., North Las Vegas (648-7806).

EVENTS

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Las Vegas and Left of Center Gallery will offer a panel discussion on “Fair Wages and Benefits for Las Vegas Workers” at 12:30 p.m. today at the gallery at 2207 W. Gowan Road, North Las Vegas. The forum is in conjunction with the Social Justice Exhibitions on display at the gallery (647-7378).

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will host a vendor expo, featuring a variety of products and services, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9 at The Salvation Army Citadel Fellowship Hall, 2900 Palomino Lane. The fundraiser will help support the organization’s 19 programs in Southern Nevada. Admission is free (870-4430).

Redrock Baptist Church, 5500 Alta Drive, will host the Love Mission Rummage Sale fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and March 9. Raffle tickets will be available. Proceeds will provide funds for the church’s missionaries to go to Africa to teach in September (870-9198).

Desert Spring Theatre Arts will present the musical “Bye, Bye Birdie” at 7 p.m. Friday and March 15, and 3 and 7 p.m. March 9 and 16 at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive. Tickets are $7.50 (290-1173).

The Ramakrishna-Vedanta Center, 10732 Balsam Creek Road, will have arati and a lecture by Swami Atmavidyananda of the Ramakrishna Order of India, on Shiva and Ramakrishna beginning at 5 p.m. March 12. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Day of Recollection will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16 in La Voy Hall at St. Francis De Sales Parish, 1111 Michael Way. The event will feature the Rev.
