MUSIC
Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will present the concert “Magnificent Vivaldi” with the Las Vegas Peoples Valley Chorus and Musica Lumina at 7:30 p.m. May 19. Admission is free (454-8484).
The Desert Winds will perform Robert Smith’s Third Symphony “Don Quixote” and other works in concert at 7:30 p.m. May 19 at Green Valley United Methodist Church, 2200 Robindale Road, Henderson. Admission is free.
Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway, will host a concert featuring the Las Vegas Master Singers Chorale at 3:30 p.m. May 20. A goodwill offering will be taken (735-7655).
EVENTS
Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive, will present “Oliver! The Musical” at 3 p.m. today. Tickets are $5 at the door (241-4349).
Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St., will have its annual Men’s Day Musical with the church’s male chorus and male choirs from churches throughout the Las Vegas Valley at 7 p.m. Friday (647-3071).
Midbar Kodesh Temple, 1940 Paseo Verde Parkway, Henderson, will host a Jerusalem Day Celebration at 2 p.m. May 20 featuring free entertainment, face painting, food, Israeli dancing and other activities (454-4848).
The Las Vegas Valley Interfaith Sponsoring Committee will launch the first Las Vegas Valley Community Convention for the Common Good at 6:30 p.m. May 22 in the Student Union Ballroom at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. The broad-based organization will bring voice and hope to families, congregations, businesses and other community institutions that share concerns for the well-being of families. The Youth Group of Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will have a swap meet and carwash 7 a.m.-noon May 26. Parking spaces are available to sell items at the swap meet.
