MUSIC

The Sonrise Singers of Sunrise Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane, will present the Easter musical “Near the Cross” at 6 p.m. today and 10:45 a.m. Easter Sunday (452-8599).

EVENTS

Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 6220 N. Jones Blvd., will host a community Easter egg hunt and safety fair 10 a.m.-1 p.m. today (645-5229).

The Rock Christian Church will host its fourth annual “rock hunt” at 9 a.m. Easter Sunday on the front lawn of Steele Elementary School, 6995 W. Eldorado Lane. The event is for children up to fifth grade. Prizes will be awarded for the rocks redeemed. A free breakfast will be served to parents of children participating in the hunt. The Church at South Las Vegas, 3051 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson, will offer an Easter Carnival noon-8 p.m. Saturday featuring live music, bounce houses, face painting and other activities (361-1579).

The Youth Group of Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will have a swap meet from 7 a.m.-noon April 14. Parking is available for $10 for church members and $25 for nonmembers. For more information, call 454-8484, ext. 245.

SERVICES

Congregation P’nai Tikvah will host a Passover Seder at 6 p.m. today in the Blasco Event Wing of the UNLV Foundation Building on the southwest corner of Maryland Parkway and Cottage Grove Avenue. Tickets are $25-$50 for nonmembers and $18-$36 for members; free for ages 4 and younger. Reservations are required (436-4900).

Trinity Lutheran Church at the Aliante Community Center, 7390 Aliante Parkway, North Las Vegas, will offer Easter Sunday service at 9 a.m. (966-9797).

Summerlin Lutheran Church, 1911 Pueblo Vista Drive, will offer Easter Sunday services at 8 and 10:30 a.m., with breakfast between services (254-8431).

Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., will have its 27th annual interdenominational Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. The service will also feature music by the Desert Chorale, a complimentary continental breakfast, dove release and the Easter Bunny (464-8500).

First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., will offer Easter Sunday services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. (384-4554).

Summerlin Presbyterian Church, 4590 S. Hualapai Way, will offer an Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. (243-0780).

Northpointe Community Church will have a Resurrection Celebration service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Don Hagen Elementary School, 150 W. Rome Blvd., North Las Vegas. The service will include music, chocolate egg handouts and a children’s Easter egg hunt (482-7382).

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 101 S. Rancho Drive, will offer a 6 a.m. Easter Sunrise service on the church’s Miracle League Field. The service will be followed by a continental breakfast and Easter egg hunt. A second Easter service will be at 10:45 a.m. (384-1544).

MEETINGS

The Sathya Sai Baba Devotional Singing Group meets at 5 p.m. Sundays at 1128 Triumph Court (461-8655).

Hindu Temple & Jain Center of Las Vegas, 1701 Sageberry Drive, offers Balaji Abhishekam services at 10:45 a.m. the first Saturday of the month in the temple, and Aarti Pooja services at noon Sundays (304-9207).

CLASSES
