MUSIC

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 101 S. Rancho Drive, will present the annual "Gospel-Praise-Spiritual Concert" at 7 p.m. Sunday. The concert will feature the 40-voice Sanctuary Choir, the Young Bell Choir and the Chalice Ringers. Admission is free (384-1544).

Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will present the piano recital "Behind the Music" with James D’Leon at 7:30 p.m. today. The Westminster College Chamber Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 28. Admission is free for both concerts (454-8484).

EVENTS

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada will celebrate Israel Independence Day 1 to 5 p.m. April 29 at Sands Expo and Convention Center, 201 Sands Ave. The event will feature performances by magician Seth Grabel and Israeli rock group the Peatot Band, a scavenger hunt, balloon art and face painting, Jewish youth choir performances, dancing and other activities. Admission is free (794-0090).

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will have its annual parking lot sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 5. Table are available to rent to sell items for $15. The event will also feature a bake sale and food court (732-2052).

Temple Sinai, 9001 Hillpointe Road, will offer a Progressive Dinner event 6-10 p.m. May 19 featuring a four-course meal, entertainment by Irv Weinberger and Daniel Sinai. Tickets are $25 in advance. The reservation deadline is May 9 (254-5110).

■ Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will hold an outdoor church service and picnic at 11 a.m. April 29 at Spring Mountain Ranch. The event is jointly hosted by Eden Korean Presbyterian Church, Nueva Vida Baptist Church and Reformation Lutheran Church (732-2052).

MEETINGS

The Las Vegas Lay Dominicans will have an inquiry meeting at 9:30 a.m. April 28, followed by their monthly meeting 10:30 a.m.-noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Newman Community, 4765 Brussels St.

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church has a singles dinner for ages 60 and older the first Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at Black Mountain Grill, 11021 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson (796-1953).

New Life Christian Center has a singles meeting at 7 p.m. the second Friday of the month at 1229 E. Carson Ave. (387-5433).

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church sponsors a singles group for people 45 and older (228-8311, ext. 7333 or 7334).

Single Adults Learning Together, or SALT Ministries of CornerStone Christian Fellowship, meets at 6 p.m. Saturdays at 5825 W. Eldora Ave. (871-5050).
