MUSIC
First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., will present a Christmas concert featuring Dr. David Dorway and Friends at 1 p.m. Sunday. The program will include Christmas carols and a reading. Admission is free (384-4554).
Shadow Hills Baptist Church Music and Creative Arts Ministries will present “The Singing Christmas Tree: Christmas Through the Decades” at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at 7811 Vegas Drive. Admission is free. Child care will be provided for ages 4 and younger (880-7811).
Mountaintop Faith Ministries, 2845 Lindell Road, will present “A Mountaintop Christmas” concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 19. Admission is one unwrapped toy (367-1636).
EVENTS
The Las Vegas Redrock Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will present “The Nativity” at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. today at Opportunity Village’s Ralph & Betty Engelstad Campus, 6050 S. Buffalo Drive. The 25-minute production of the biblical account of Jesus Christ’s birth will also include live musical performances before the show, and Nativities from around the world on display (thenativitylv.com).
Zion United Methodist Church, 2108 N. Revere St., will have a holiday festival, featuring educational activities, crafts, games, food and other items, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today (808-9557).
Northpointe Community Church’s J.O.Y. Ministry will have its Christmas ladies prayer breakfast from 10 a.m. to noon today in Social Hall B at Sun City Aliante’s Community Center, 7394 Aliante Parkway, North Las Vegas. Admission is $5, and includes anointed music, continental breakfast, devotional study packets, theme-related gift tokens, a $5 gift exchange and drawing. For reservations, call 647-0015.
The Sandra & Stanley Mallin Early Childhood Center at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, will have a Hanukkah Family Cookie Decorating Day from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday. There also will be live music and hot chocolate. A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to Hurricane Sandy victims through the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Disaster Relief Fund and Hatzilu (New York Jewish Red Cross) (804-1333).
Fremont Street Experience will have its annual Grand Menorah Lighting Ceremony at 4 p.m. Sunday featuring Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Rabbi Shea Harlig, director of Chabad of Southern Nevada. The event will take place at Fremont Street Experience, just west of the intersection at Fourth Street.
Jewish Family Service Agency will celebrate Hanukkah at its annual Light of Life Menorah event on Sunday at the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village, 6300 W. Oakey Blvd. The celebration and a wine tasting event featuring entertainment will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $36 per person or $64 per couple for the wine tasting ticket, which includes entry to the Magical Forest. The Ramakrishna Vedanta Center of Las Vegas, 10732 Balsam Creek Road, will have its Christmas event Tuesday. The event will begin with a reading, Arati and meditation at 5 p.m., followed by a talk on Christmas symbolism with group carol singing at 6 p.m., and a potluck supper at 7:15 p.m. (646-4889).
Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 6220 N. Jones Blvd., will present a live Nativity viewing celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ at 6 p.m. Dec. 15. Live animals will be part of the display, and available for petting. Cocoa and snacks will be available. The event is free and open to the public (645-4998).
The Ladies Auxiliary of St. Joseph Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave., will sell religious articles from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 16. Items will include rosaries, Bibles, statues, jewelry, Advent wreaths, candles, night lights and other items (363-1902).

The Las Vegas Lay Dominicans will have an inquiry meeting at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 15, followed by their general meeting from 10:30 a.m. to noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Newman Community, 4765 Brussels St.
CLASSES
Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., offers English as a Second Language conversational classes at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays. Volunteers interested in teaching can call 541-1952 or 732-2052.

SINGLES GROUPS
