MUSIC

In celebration of Community Lutheran Church’s 35th anniversary, the church will present the concert “35 Years of Christmas,” featuring more than 100 singers, dancers and musicians, at 7 p.m. today at 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. Tickets are $20-$35 (458-2241).

Shadow Hills Baptist Church’s Celebration Choir and Drama Ministries will present the Christmas musical “Celebrate the Wonder” at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at 7811 Vegas Drive. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and child care will be provided for those younger than kindergarten age (880-7811).

The musical arts department of Trinity United Methodist Church will present its annual Christmas musical “A Child is Born … A Christmas Worship Experience of the Christ-Light” at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at 6151 W. Charleston Blvd. (870-4747).

The Peoples Valley Chorus will present Handel’s “Messiah” at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1978 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson (454-8484).

The Sonrise Singers of Sunrise Baptist Church will present the free Christmas musical “Child of Wonder” at 7 p.m. Friday, 6 p.m. Dec. 13 and 10:45 a.m. Dec. 14 at 1780 Betty Lane (452-8599).

Green Valley Methodist Church, 2200 Robindale Road, will celebrate the holiday season with Christmas carols presented by the church’s four vocal ensembles, a bell choir and instrumentalists, and with Bible stories of the birth of Christ at 5 p.m. Dec. 13 and Dec. 14 (454-7989).

The Sisterhood of Congregation Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valle Verde Drive, Henderson, will have its annual holiday bazaar featuring ceramics, handbags, handmade craft items, mah jongg items, food, music, games, a drawing and door prizes, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday (733-6292).

The Women’s League of Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, will have its annual Hanukkah bazaar featuring original jewelry; Judaic items; kosher herbs and spices; candles; stained, fused and handblown glass pieces; mah jongg sets and accessories; and food and other items, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday (804-1333).

The Lebanese American Festival featuring live entertainment, games, food, crafts, a silent auction and other activities will be 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today and 1-5 p.m. Sunday at St. Sharbel Church, 10325 Rancho Destino Road. The L’Dor V’Dor Committee of Temple Beth Sholom will present a free celebration of Hanukkah for homebound and facility-bound seniors throughout Las Vegas at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 16 at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane. The event will feature singing by children from Sandra and Stanley Mallin Early Childhood Center, entertainment by Ron Seifer and a catered lunch by Spiedini Ristorante and chef Gustav Mauler. SERVICES

St. Bridget Catholic Church, 220 N. 14th St., will have a novena in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe daily through Dec. 12, with a rosary recitation at 6:30 p.m. and a Mass celebration at 7 (384-3382).

Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave., will celebrate the church’s 35th anniversary at services at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday. A reception will follow both services. In addition, Doug Wilson will perform a concert featuring the church’s new organ at 2 p.m. (458-2241).

MEETINGS

The Secular Franciscans of St. Margaret of Cortona fraternity meets at 12:30 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at Pace E Bene offices, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. (453-2417).

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada, 4794 S. Eastern Ave., Suite C, offers singles programs for adults of all ages. Jewish singles in their 20s and 30s meet at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of the month at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Co. at The District, 2220 Village Walk Drive, Henderson; Jewish singles age 60 and older meet for dinner at various locations the third Wednesday of the month in Henderson, and the last Thursday of the month in Summerlin; all singles meet for a movie the fourth Wednesday of the month at Rave Motion Pictures, 6857 Las Vegas Blvd. South (794-0090).

New Life Christian Center has a singles meeting at 7 p.m. the second Friday of the month at 1229 E. Carson Ave. (387-5433).

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church sponsors a singles group for professionals 25 to 45 years old that meets for hiking and other social outings (228-8311, Ext. 7334). Single Adults Learning Together, or SALT Ministries of CornerStone Christian Fellowship, meets at 6 p.m. Saturdays at 5825 W. Eldora Ave. (871-5050).
