EVENTS

Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church, 2120 Lindell Road, will have a Mardi Gras celebration 7 p.m.-midnight today. The event will feature live music and a buffet dinner. Dinner tickets are $25 per person and $40 for couples (873-5101).

Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 6670 W. Cheyenne Ave., will offer a “Fiesta of Love” featuring a DJ, games, crafts, the “Not So Newlywed Game,” movies for children, piñatas and light refreshments 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free (645-1777).

The L’Dor V’Dor committee of Temple Beth Sholom will offer a free Purim celebration for seniors 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane. The event will feature entertainment by students of Sandra and Stanley Mallin Early Childhood Center and a catered lunch by Spiedini Ristorante. Reservations are required by Tuesday. Homebound or facility-bound seniors who would like to participate should contact Elaine Jacobs at 228-0247. When making a reservation, indicate if transportation is needed.

Stillpoint: Center for Spiritual Development, 8072 W. Sahara Ave., Suite. D, will present “St. Paul: His Life, Letters, Leadership and Legacy” with the Rev. Felix Just at 7 p.m. Thursday (243-4040).

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 1811 Puebo Vista Drive, will honor Our Lady, Queen of Peace with guest speaker Ivan Dragicevic at 5:55 p.m. Feb. 21. Dragicevic, from Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, will talk about apparitions of the Virgin Mary he and others claim to witness (228-8311).

MEETINGS

The Secular Franciscans of St. Margaret of Cortona fraternity meets at 12:30 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at Pace E Bene offices, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. (453-2417).

CLASSES

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will offer the AARP 55 Alive Safety Driver Program 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The fee is $14; $12 for AARP members (732-2052).

The Sathya Sai Baba Devotional Singing Group meets at 5 p.m. Sundays at 1128 Triumph Ct. (461-8655).

Govinda’s Center of Vedic India, 6380 S. Eastern Ave., offers Mantra Meditation, a presentation of Indian Vedic Wisdom, vegetarian snacks and literature at 6 p.m. Sundays (434-8332).

SINGLES GROUPS

New Life Christian Center has a singles meeting at 7 p.m. the second Friday of the month at 1229 E. Carson Ave. (387-5433).

Single Adults Learning Together, or SALT Ministries of CornerStone Christian Fellowship, meets at 6 p.m. Saturdays at 5825 W. Eldora Ave. (871-5050).
