EVENTS

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, will honor Our Lady, Queen of Peace with guest speaker Ivan Dragicevic at 5:55 p.m. today. Dragicevic, from Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, will talk about apparitions of the Virgin Mary he and others claim to witness (228-8311).

Sunrise Southern Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane, will host Commandment 11, a contemporary Christian music ministry team from Simpsonville, S.C., at 10:45 a.m. Sunday (452-8599).

Baha’is of Las Vegas will have a prayer gathering at 3 p.m. Sunday for seven members of their religion who have been in prison in Iran. The meeting will take place at the Las Vegas Baha’i Center, 7035 W. Oakey Blvd. (838-9191).

Temple Beth Sholom and the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas will host a talk by Karnit Goldwasser at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at 10700 Havenwood Lane. Goldwasser will share the story of her two-year search to find her husband, Ehud Goldwasser, a soldier with Israeli Defense Forces, who was kidnapped in 2006 by Hezbollah (804-1333, Ext. 100).

John Bevere, an international speaker and co-host of "The Messenger" TV programs, will speak at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 and 10 and 11:45 a.m. March 1 at the Church at South Las Vegas, 3051 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson (617-0657).

CLASSES

Zen Master Ven. Jian Hu will present a series of Zen Buddhism lectures beginning Friday at 2 p.m. in Room 106 of Building B at the College of Southern Nevada, West Charleston campus, 6375 W. Charleston Blvd., and at 7 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Ephiphany, 9041 S. Pecos Road, Henderson. Another lecture is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at West Sahara Library, 9600 W.
