EASTER SERVICES, ACTIVITIES

The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany will have a Holy Saturday service at 9 a.m. today, and Easter services at 5, 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, at 9041 S. Pecos Road, Suite 4000, Henderson (693-4100).

Central Christian Church will offer the following Easter services: 3, 4:30 and 6 p.m. today, and 9, 10:20 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the Henderson campus, 1001 New Beginnings Drive; 9, 10:20 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the Summerlin campus at Palo Verde High School, 333 S. Pavilion Center Drive; and 10:20 and 11:45 a.m. Sunday at the Southwest campus at Desert Oasis High School, 6600 W. Erie Ave. (735-4004).

The Church at South Las Vegas, 3051 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson, will have Easter egg hunts following the 5 and 7 p.m. services today (361-1579).

The Sonrise Singers of Sunrise Baptist Church will present the Easter musical “Experiencing God” at 6 p.m. today and 10:45 a.m. Sunday at 1780 Betty Lane. The event is free (452-8599).

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will have Easter services at 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. There will be a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. (732-2052).

Trinity United Methodist Church, 6151 W. Charleston Blvd., will have an Easter egg hunt following the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday (870-4747).

The International Church of Las Vegas will present its Easter show, “Walk This Way: A Rock Opera,” at 6 p.m. Sunday at 8100 Westcliff Drive. Admission is free (242-2273).

Sunrise Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane, will present the movie “The Passion of the Christ” at 6 p.m. Sunday. The event is free (452-8599).

MUSIC

Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8601 Del Webb Blvd., will present a free family concert of popular Disney music at 3 p.m. April 19. Performers will include Cindy Stock, Lance Taubold, Shelly Martinson, Stormi Caprice, Allen Merritt, Dan Frank, pianist Spencer Baker and the “Saving Grace” dancers. A “passing of the hat” offering will be for the Garold Gardner Scholarship Foundation (341-7800).

EVENTS

First Church of Christ Scientist will present a talk by David Stevens on overcoming addictions through prayer at 3 p.m. today at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Child care will be provided (384-3043).

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada and Congregation Ner Tamid will present the annual Yiddish Cabaret and Deli Night at 7:30 April 18 at Congregation Ner Tamid, 55 Valle Verde Drive, Henderson. Tickets are $36 for members of either organization and $45 for nonmembers. Proceeds will benefit Jewish Community Center programs. For reservations, call 794-0090 or 733-6292.

A commemoration program and service for Yom Hashoah, in honor of those lost and surviving the Holocaust, will be at 7 p.m. April 20 at Midbar Kodesh Temple, 1940 Paseo Verde Parkway, Henderson. The program will feature an art exhibit by Robert Sutz, a candlelighting ceremony by Southern Nevada Holocaust survivors and local clergy, and speaker Mary Johnson, who will discuss “The Voyage of the SS St. Louis in 1939 and Its Legacy for the 21st Century” (454-4848).

CLASSES

Wellspring Church of All Nations will offer a summit on “Strong Believers Build Strong Churches” 10 a.m.-3 p.m. April 18 at 4870 Janell Drive. A potluck meal will be at noon (631-5027).

Green Valley Baptist Church, 270 N. Valle Verde Drive, Henderson, will offer “Getting Control of Your Finances in an Out-of-Control World” with Mary Hunt, author and contributing editor to Women’s Day magazine, on April 19. Participants may attend the first session at 8:30, 9:45 or 11 a.m. The second session will follow at 3 p.m., with the third session at 4:15 p.m. (434-1906).

SINGLES GROUPS

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada, Temple Sinai and Congregation Ner Tamid offer a variety of programs for Jewish singles of all ages in Las Vegas and Henderson. For details, call the Jewish Community Center at 794-0090, Temple Sinai at 254-5110 or Congregation Ner Tamid at 733-6292.

New Life Christian Center has a singles meeting at 7 p.m. the second Friday of the month at 1229 E. Carson Ave. (387-5433).

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church sponsors singles groups for professionals 25 to 45 years old and a singles group for people 45 and older (228-8311, Ext. 7333 or 7334).

Single Adults Learning Together, or SALT Ministries of CornerStone Christian Fellowship, meets at 6 p.m. Saturdays at 5825 W. Eldora Ave. (871-5050).
