MUSIC

The Handbell Choirs of Mountain View Presbyterian Church will present “An Afternoon of Christmas Music” at 3 p.m. Sunday at 8601 Del Webb Blvd. A goodwill offering will be accepted (341-7800).

First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., will present the music and art event “Art to Heart Messiah,” featuring a choral performance of Handel’s “Messiah” and more than 170 masterpieces of western art at 2 p.m. Dec. 20 in the church sanctuary. A goodwill offering will be accepted (384-4554).

The annual “Holiday Brass/Organ Concert & Christmas Sing-a-Long” will be presented at 2 p.m. Dec. 20 at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. The concert is free (454-8484).

SERVICES

Deep Roots Christian Church, 4161 N. Rancho Drive, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Brent Lively. The service will feature violinist and pianist duo Christer and Seigfried Tepper of Tepper Ministries International. The celebration also will feature a holiday concert at 6 p.m. with Tepper Ministries International. A goodwill offering will be accepted. Canned food items also will be collected for the food pantry for single mothers in need (395-9394).

Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will offer the following services on Christmas Eve: the family service featuring the children’s program at 6 p.m.; a Communion service with vocal ensemble and soloists at 8:30 p.m.; and a candlelight service with chancel choir and hand bells at 11 p.m. (454-8484).

EVENTS

The annual Menorah Lighting, featuring live music and entertainment, will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday at Fremont Street Experience, downtown between Las Vegas Boulevard and Main Street (259-0770).

St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, will have its annual craft and “whatnots” holiday sale featuring handmade wreaths, scarves, ornaments, gift baskets, baby items and more, 2-7 p.m. Dec. 19 and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 20 (565-8406).

Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will have a swap meet and craft show to benefit the church’s youth programs 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Dec. 19. To reserve a space to sell handmade crafts, food or gently used items, call 544-8673.
