The Chung Tai Chan Buddhist Community in Las Vegas will present the lecture “Pure Mind, Pure Land: A New Lifestyle for World Harmony,” with Ven. Jian Hu, abbott of Chung Tai Zen Center of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Buddha Jewel Monastery in Seattle, at 2 p.m. May 1 in Building B, Room 105, at the College of Southern Nevada campus at 6375 W. Charleston Blvd. A half-day Zen Meditation Retreat with Hu will be offered at 1 p.m. May 2 at TKO Family Martial Arts, 1171 S. Buffalo Drive. Attendees for the retreat may bring a cushion.
