Fear and distrust of Muslims has reached a peak not seen since right after 9/11, and the only way to defeat it is through intensive outreach.
King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery will sponsor Kever Avot v’lmahot memorial services in conjunction with the Board of Rabbis of Southern Nevada on Sept 12. Rabbis and cantors from Southern Nevada synagogues will conduct the services at the following times and locations: 10:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North; 1 p.m. at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane; and 1 p.m. at Palm Mortuary and Memorial Park — Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Attendees will receive stones to place on their loved ones’ graves and a free yahrzeit candle to take home. In the spirit of the High Holy Days and tzedakah, attendees are asked to bring a donation of canned or dry food items for the food pantry at the Jewish Family Service Agency of Las Vegas (464-8570).
