Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Monday at the Mount: A moderate to strenuous four-mile hike along the South Loop at Mount Charleston (515-5367).

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, Full Moon: Meet at the tour gate Monday at 7:45 p.m. for a two-hour hike with some bouldering at Sandstone Canyon. Arrive 15 minutes early, as the park gates close when the hike starts. No dogs or children under 12 years old allowed (875-4141).

Red Rock Canyon, Junior Hikers Club: An easy and fun hike for ages 7-12 Tuesday, to learn "Leave No Trace" ethics. Limited space (515-5367).

Red Rock Canyon, Bonanza Peak: Friday, a strenuous 10-mile hike gaining 2,600 feet along switchbacks between Cold Creek and Lee Canyon (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people, 50 years and over, interested in hiking and related social activities will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Fe Casino, 4949 N. Ranhco Drive, South Parking Garage, on the left of Level 3, for a moderate three-hour hike at Mount Charleston (642-2285).

Sierra Club: The Southern Nevada Group will leave Friday morning, spend two nights in a motel, and enjoy a moderate hike along the California coast at Laguna Beach. Contact Nick Saines at 896-4049.

Red Rock Canyon, Corn Creek Spring: An easy one-half-mile walk Saturday to view prime habitat for aquatic and land plants and animals (515-5367).

Sierra Club: The Southern Nevada Group will have a moderate to strenuous five-mile round-trip hike with a 1,500-foot gain Saturday along South Sister Peak. Hike will include conservation and/or education activities. Contact George McDonald at 808-3855.

Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club: A 6:15 a.m. moderate to fast 15-20 mile road ride is scheduled on Wednesday. Meet at the NuVision Cyclery on West Lake Mead Boulevard between Rampart Boulevard and Scholar Lane (228-1333). There will be a 30-plus mile, moderate and hilly, ride on Wednesday and Thursday at 7 a.m., and a 30 to 50-plus mile long grade ride on Saturday at 7 a.m. Meet behind Starbucks on West Charleston Boulevard and Town Center Drive. And an easy ride of 25 to 35 miles of flat land on Aug. 5 at 7 a.m. Meet at Einstein Brothers Bagels, 8400 Cheyenne Ave. (873-6256). Be sure to bring plenty of water for all rides.
