TV personality debuts exclusive Casa Cristina textiles collection

Casa Cristina, a line of home furnishings and textiles created by Emmy Award-winning TV personality Cristina Saralegui, recently debuted an exclusive collection of spring designs at Kohl’s department stores nationwide.

The collection includes sheet sets, bedding sets, bath towels, decorative towels and table linens. The new collection reflects Saralegui’s Hispanic heritage and her fondness for classic design elements. Casa Cristina also brings to life many of the season’s biggest trends, which embrace romance and simplicity, and showcase vibrant brights, dark tones and brilliant whites, as well as scroll patterns, lace effects and artisan qualities.

“Spring is an inspired time of year, focused on transformation and new beginnings. For me, home has always been a place where some of life’s most important moments happen, a place that truly reflects my personal style and taste,” Saralegui said. “Spring is the perfect time of year to re-energize your home with personal and simple updates.”

“Kohl’s exclusive Casa Cristina collection provides shoppers with a unique home décor opportunity, combining a classic look with a cultural flair,” said Kevin Mansell, president of Kohl’s. “We are confident that Cristina’s vibrant sense of style and fondness for global design will resonate with a broad cross section of consumers during this season of transformation.”

Among the designs available is Saralegui’s recent pick of the month, La Mesa textile collection, which was inspired by the magnolia trees that lined the streets in her native Cuba.

“I think I really love magnolia trees because of their ability to transform. After all, you don’t just see them on Cuba’s glamorous, glorious streets. You find them in the country’s most downtrodden areas — shifting people’s eyes away from the sadness that surrounds them to the beauty that only a magnolia tree can supply.”

She said she believes the collection of tablecloths, place mats, napkins, napkin rings, pot holders and kitchen towels has the same ability.

“After all, when you use something beautiful in your home, no matter how small it is, it has the power to inspire you to use other beautiful things, creating a better — and more appealing — place to live.”

The collection includes a choice of tablecloths in a striped print, a jacquard design and a magnolia print with a striped border. A unique feature of the collection is the round napkin, which can be threaded through a magnolia napkin ring to look like a flower in bloom.
