From bold and bright to calm and relaxing, the color trends you’ll find in 2008 complement a wide variety of aesthetics. Valspar, a premium paint brand available at Lowe’s, says this year’s colors are drawing heavily from several areas and has created four distinct color palettes for consumers who want their walls and other painting projects to reflect the world around them.
The four color trends for this year are:
Botanical — Environmental concerns have many people thinking green and wanting to choose colors that bring them back to peace with nature. This organic palette includes various shades of greens, blues and natural colors found in foliage, flowers and the sky that reflect a pure, grounded lifestyle.
Globetrotting — With people traveling more than ever and technology marginalizing the distance between countries, people are finding inspiration from around the globe in countries such as China, India, Morocco and Latin America. This bold palette includes spicy, bright and saturated colors guaranteed to liven up a room.
Artisan — In a world of mass production, we’ve begun to appreciate the creativity, individuality and primitive simplicity found in handmade arts and crafts. In this palette of dusty midtones are the rich combinations you might find in an old quilt or a beautiful piece of pottery.
Nuances — The Nuance paint color palette is all about soft, restful shades that balance the elements. This color palette includes shades of blue-gray, taupe and cream that blend stylishly for a sophisticated look that straddles the boundaries between color and neutral.
