What: Savvy Clients: A New Conversation. Part of the First Fridays series for industry professionals presented by the Las Vegas Design Center. Industry veteran Lloyd Princeton will discuss experiences design professionals have with finding, negotiating and servicing today’s value-conscious client. Explore international business development efforts and learn about immediate ways to make a difference in your business. The presentation will be followed by a book signing for Princeton’s book, “Marketing Interior Design,” which offers a guide to marketing with examples of good and bad materials.

What: Plant sale. Native Mojave species will be featured, as well as those that attract hummingbirds and butterflies, and those that can be used as food for desert tortoises. All plants are drought tolerant and were grown by students from the College of Southern Nevada.

What: GMJ Interiors will present a color clinic. Participants will learn how to coordinate paint into their décor and see what a difference accent colors make in their homes. Each will receive a free Color to Go paint sample.

What: Carnation Garden Club. Guest speaker will be Diane Eisen, a master gardener and licensed physical therapist. Her topic will be “Oooh, My Aching Knees.” Strategies for modifying clothing, equipment or the garden itself and techniques to prevent injury will be presented. Guests are welcome.

Why did my bird of paradise plants quit blooming?
