Rose society sets pruning event

The Las Vegas Valley Rose Society will present a pruning demonstration Saturday. During the session, participants will learn how to prune roses properly, as well as how to grow and show them.

The demonstration, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be held at 1112 Oak Tree Lane.

Workshop to aid applicants

The Nevada State Contractors Board business assistance program, which provides guidance with the contractors’ license application process, is accepting reservations for a free workshop scheduled for 9-11 a.m. Jan. 27 at the Henderson office, 2310 Corporate Circle, Suite 200.

During the session, participants will receive the necessary information to complete the contractor’s license application process quickly and accurately.

Nevada requires that all contractors be licensed.
