Ikenobo chapter to host fall workshops

The Ikenobo Ikebana Nevada Chapter will hold two workshops Saturday at the Whitney Library, 5175 Tropicana Ave. The sessions are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In the morning, the workshop will focus on fall nishu-ike, using two kinds of flowers. The afternoon session will be fall symbolic, a sanshu-ike shoka using three different materials.

Flower arrangers’ guild sets meeting

The Las Vegas Flower Arrangers’ Guild will meet today at 9:30 a.m. at the Nevada Garden Club Center in Lorenzi Park, 3333 W. Washington Ave. at Twin Lakes Drive.

The day’s assignment will be to create a floral design using weathered wood. Finished arrangements will be critiqued by members who are flower show judges.

New members are welcome.

The group meets the second Thursday of each month at the garden club center.

Creation of bonsai focus of event

The Las Vegas Bonsai Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Nevada Garden Club Center, 3333 W. Washington Ave. A demonstration on creating a bonsai is planned.

The group meets the second Wednesday of each month at the garden club center.
